Connecting an inReach Device to the Chartplotter

You can connect a compatible inReach® device to the chartplotter to manage messages.

  1. Bring the inReach device within 3 m (10 ft.) of the chartplotter.
  2. To enable the inReach remote feature on the compatible device, select an option1:

    • On an inReach Mini device, from the main menu, select Setup > ANT+ > Status > On.

    • On an inReach Mini 3, inReach Mini 2, inReach Messenger Plus, or inReach Messenger device, from the main menu, select Settings > inReach Remote > Status > On.

    • On a GPSMAP® 86i or GPSMAP 67i device, from the main menu, select Setup > Sensors > inReach Remote > Enabled > On.

    • On a GPSMAP H1i Plus device, from the main menu, select Settings > Connectivity > Sensors & Accessories > inReach Remote > Enabled > On.

  3. On the chartplotter, select Vessel > inReach® > Start Pairing.

    The chartplotter begins searching for and connecting to the inReach device. This can take up to 60 seconds.

  4. If necessary, select OK to agree to any informational messages and complete the connection.
  5. Compare the code shown on the inReach device to code shown on the chartplotter, and select OK if they match.
    NOTE: On some newer devices, you must select OK on both the inReach device and the chartplotter to complete the connection.

The inReach device and chartplotter connect automatically when they are within range.

1 If your inReach model is not shown, consult the latest Owner's Manual for your inReach device to enable the remote setting.
