Configuring Guidance Lines

When using a compatible camera, such as a GC™ 245/255, you can configure guidance lines to aid when docking your vessel.

NOTE: If your camera was installed by your boat builder, it may already be configured for the distance markers feature, which is different than the guidance lines feature. You can change this configuration to use guidance lines instead of distance markers by following these instructions.
CAUTION

Guidance lines are user-configured and intended for visual reference only. They may not prevent collisions in all circumstances and should not be relied upon for determining exact distances. It is your obligation to ensure safe operation of your vessel and to remain aware of your surroundings while operating your vessel.

  1. Select HOME > Vessel > Video > Options.
  2. If you have more than one camera connected to your network, select Source, and select a camera to configure.
  3. Select an option:
    • If your camera supports distance markers, and you are enabling guidance lines for the first time, select Video Setup > Enable Guidance Lines to disable distance markers and configure guidance lines.

    • If your camera does not support distance markers, select Video Setup > Adjust Guidance Lines.

  4. Select Up, Down, Left and Right to adjust the first reference point.
  5. After you've set the first reference point, select Next to adjust the next point.
  6. Repeat this process to set the other three points.

We recommend setting reference points so that the vertical lines align with the edge of a dock next to your vessel, and so that the red horizontal line is positioned just off the stern of your vessel.

  7. After you've adjusted all of the reference points and have finished configuring the guidance lines, select Back to exit.
TIP: You can select Save as Default to save this configuration and recall it later by selecting Reset to Default.
