Heave Compensation
In wavy conditions, the record of the bottom on the sonar screen may raise up and down with the vessel as it is affected by waves. You can activate the heave compensation feature to adjust for the sea condition and provide steady sonar recordings.
To use the heave compensation feature, you must meet specific requirements:

You must install at least one compatible transducer connected to the chartplotter, or a compatible sonar module on the network with a transducer installed and connected to it.

You must install at least one MSC™ 10 heading and attitude sensor and connect it to the same NMEA 2000® network as the chartplotter or chartplotters where you want to use the heave compensation feature.

You must configure the positions of these connected sensors on the vessel.
