Calibrating the Compass on the Handheld Device

The device has a 3-axis electronic compass. You may need to calibrate the compass after using the handheld device inside a vehicle, exposing the handheld device to a magnet, or experiencing temperature changes.

NOTICE

Calibrate the electronic compass outdoors. To improve heading accuracy, do not stand near objects that influence magnetic fields, such as vehicles, buildings, and overhead power lines.

  1. Set the intensity dial to N.
  2. Select the tone key.
  3. Select the bottom training key.
  4. Point the device north.
  5. Rotate the device as shown on the screen.

    The device vibrates and displays a check mark on the screen when calibration is complete.
