You can customize general options such as units of measure, position format, and map datum.

Select Edit > Options > Measurement.

Measurement System

Sets the units of measure.

NOTE: If you select the Custom option, you must set the units of measure individually for each type of data.

Grade

Sets the format used for the elevation grade.

Heading

Sets the heading type used when viewing the map.

Position

Sets the position-coordinate format and map datum used for map positions.

NOTE: If you select the User Defined Grid or the User Defined Datum options, you must select the Properties option to edit the custom grid or datum details.
