Removing the Shaft from the Steering System

Before you can remove the shaft from the steering system, you must remove the transducer cable from the mount, if applicable (Removing the Power and Transducer Cables From the Mount).

  1. Disconnect the motor from the power source.
  2. Open the shaft cap (Opening the Shaft Cap).
  3. Disconnect the cables in the shaft cap (Disconnecting the Cables).
  4. Remove the transducer cable from the shaft cap (Removing the Transducer Cable).
  5. Remove the shaft cap (Removing the Shaft Cap).
  6. Remove the depth limiter (Removing the Depth Limiter).
  7. Remove the shaft from the steering system (Removing the Shaft).
