Overview
Refer to 7 Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS) for Autopilot information.
Increased situational awareness is provided by replacing the traditional instruments on the panel with an easy-to-scan Primary Flight Window (PFW) that features an attitude indicator with attitude director indicator (ADI) functionality, airspeed indicator, barometric altimeter, vertical speed indicator (VSI), vertical deviation indicator (VDI), and a horizontal situation indicator (HSI) that includes the heading indicator and course deviation information.
Additionally, the system has various touch-screen features. For example, some indicators on the PFW also serve as buttons that, when touched, open that indicator's menu or a selection menu to configure that indicator. The customization of the HSI, for example, can be accessed from the 'PFW Menu', which can traditionally be opened using the MENU Softkey on the PFW side of the display, or alternatively, by touching the space inside the HSI on the PFW.
PFW's also display various alerts and annunciations.
