Vertical Speed Indicator

NOTICE
The AXIS™ Flight Display(s) are highly configurable and display of the vertical speed indicator (VSI) may vary from the examples discussed in the section.
The Vertical Speed Indicator (VSI) displays the aircraft vertical speed using a non-moving tape labeled with major and minor tick marks. The major tick marks are abbreviated with the first numerical position being displayed (e.g. 1000, 2000, and 3000 would be displayed as 1, 2, and 3). The minor tick marks are displayed in even intervals between the major tick marks. In full screen mode, the current vertical speed is displayed as a numerical value inside a black arrow. In split-screen mode the VSI is abbreviated as a white triangular arrow with no numerical value displayed.
