Holding Your Position

Before you can use autopilot features, you must calibrate the trolling motor (Calibrating the Trolling Motor Compass).

You can use Anchor Mode to hold the position of the boat.

The default Anchor Mode setting is Bow Lock, where the motor uses your GPS location and the defined vessel length setting to hold the position of the bow of your boat, allowing the stern to drift (Configuring Bow Lock).1

NOTE: You can change the default Anchor Mode to use the location of the motor on the stern as the anchor point, allowing the bow to drift (Changing the Default Anchor Mode).
Press Anchor icon.

The Anchor-at-bow icon icon appears on the remote control screen. The motor uses your GPS location and the defined vessel length setting to hold the position of the bow of your boat.

While Anchor Mode is turned on, you can adjust your anchored position using the arrow keys on the remote control, or using gesture controls (Using Gesture Controls to Adjust Your Held Position ).

To turn off Anchor Mode, press Anchor icon again.

1 The default Vessel Length setting is 3.5 m (12 ft.), and, for the best performance, you should adjust this if your vessel is longer or shorter.
