Map Settings and Controls for Flight

'Map' and other function related map displays are used to provide situational awareness in flight. Most map displays can show the following information:
  • Airports, NAVAIDs, airspaces, airways, land data (highways, cities, lakes, rivers, borders, etc.) with names

  • Map range

  • Map orientation

  • Icons for enabled map items

  • Aircraft icon (representing present position)

  • Obstacle data

  • Map Pointer information (distance and bearing to pointer, location of pointer, name, and other pertinent information)

  • Fuel range ring

  • Flight plan legs

  • User waypoints

  • Track vector

  • Topographic terrain

  • Fixes
