Map Panning

Pan Mode is selected by direct touch on all MFW map displays. Map motion stops when Pan Mode is active. A crosshair is placed in the center of the window while panning the map. Panning the map and adjusting the map range can be done simultaneously, meaning that while panning the user can zoom in and out to a specific location by beginning the zoom over a specific location. Map Panning functionality is not available for traffic maps.

Pan Mode allows the pilot to:

  • View parts of the map outside the displayed range without adjusting the map range by panning the map

  • Select any item on the map to display the Radial Menu and view the item name, elevation, and distance from present position

At any time the while panning the map, the icon in the top left corner of the map will recenter the map on the current aircraft location and end panning.
