Map Orientation
Three different orientation options are available for system map displays. This allows flexibility in determining aircraft position relative to other items on the map (North Up) or for determining where map items are relative to where the aircraft is going (Track Up or Heading Up). The map orientation is shown in the upper left corner of the map display pane.

North up ('North Up') aligns the top edge of the map display to north.

Track up ('TRK Up') aligns the top edge of the map display to the current ground track.

Heading up ('HDG Up') aligns the top edge of the map display to the current aircraft heading.
The map application allows users to select their preferred map orientation for the 'Map' Application and 'Weather' Application in the 'Map' Application settings. The map will return to this preferred orientation when:
- North up on ground or north up above conditions are no longer met.
- The map application is initialized by either opening the app for the first time or by re-selecting the map application while the map application is open.
The preferred display orientation will not be updated when cycling through map views using the Map Orientation Selection Button in the upper left corner of the map.
