Your inReach^® satellite communicator can send and receive text messages using the Iridium^® satellite network. You can send messages to an SMS phone number, an email address, or another device that uses inReach technology. Each message you send includes your location details where allowed.

• Preset messages are messages with predefined text and recipients. Preset message text can be customized and edited.

  NOTE: Preset messages are also known as check-in messages. Check-in messages have replaced preset messages as of September 2022. inReach accounts set up prior to this date will still have preset messages available, but any new accounts created after this date will use check-in messages.

• Quick text messages can be selected and sent when entering a new text message. Using quick text messages can save time typing in the field.
