Reversionary Display Modes
When at least two AXIS™ flight displays are installed, failure of one GDU™ will cause one or more of the remaining GDU(s) to automatically display a reversionary format. In Reversionary Mode, a display will show a split screen format with PFD/MFD/EIS windows (if EIS is installed). Radio tuning, audio panel, and transponder controls may also be displayed if the remaining GDU(s) are able to interface to these equipment.
Due to interface limitations of the base GDU 116B, there are some installations where a combination of GDU 116B, GEA 110, and GSU 75 may result in loss of EIS and/or primary ADAHRS display in Reversionary Mode. The following table describes display reversion behavior for different combinations of equipment.
| Display Configuration | Single Display Failure Effects | Exceptions |
|---|---|---|
| Single PFD | If PFD fails, all PFD/MFD/EIS function is lost, use standby instruments for attitude/air data | |
| PFD1/PFD2 | If PFD1 fails, PFD2 will enter Reversionary Mode | If a GEA 110 is installed with GDU 116B as PFD2, loss of PFD1 results in loss of EIS |
| If PFD2 fails, PFD1 will enter Reversionary Mode | ||
| PFD/MFD | If PFD fails, MFD will enter Reversionary Mode | If a GEA 110 is installed with GDU 116B MFD, loss of PFD results in loss of EIS |
| If GSU 75 and pneumatic standby instruments are installed with GDU 116B MFD, the MFD cannot display ADAHRS data in Reversionary Mode | ||
| Note: if GSU 75 is installed with G5 or GI275 and a GDU 116B MFD, the MFD can only display standby ADAHRS data in Reversionary Mode | ||
| If MFD Fails, PFD will enter Reversionary Mode | ||
| PFD/MFD1/MFD2 | If PFD fails, MFD1 and MFD2 will enter Reversionary Mode | If a GEA 110 is installed with dual GDU 116B MFD’s, loss of PFD will result in loss of EIS |
| If GSU 75 and pneumatic standby instruments are installed with dual GDU 116B MFD’s, neither MFD can display ADAHRS data in Reversionary Mode | ||
| Note: if GSU 75 is installed with G5 or GI275 and dual GDU 116B MFD’s, the MFDs can only display standby ADAHRS data in Reversionary Mode | ||
| If MFD1 or MFD2 fails, PFD will enter Reversionary mode | ||
| PFD1/MFD/PFD2 | If PFD1 fails, MFD will enter Reversionary Mode and display data from ADAHRS #2 | If a GEA 110 is installed with GDU 116B as MFD & PFD2, loss of PFD1 will result in loss of EIS |
| If MFD or PFD2 fails, PFD1 will enter Reversionary Mode |
