Creating a User Waypoint:

  1. From any map display on an MFW, touch the map at the location of the new user waypoint to access the Radial Menu (if necessary, touch and drag the map display to pan to the desired location).

    Or:

    1. Navigate to the 'Apps' window by pressing the MENU Softkey two times.

      Or:

      Touch the Applications Icon on the Applications Bar.

    2. Touch the Quick Actions Tab.
    3. Touch User WPTs.
    4. Touch the Create User Waypoint Icon.
  2. Touch the Waypoint Name Button to display the keypad.
    1. Use the keypad and the Enter Button to input the User Waypoint Name.
  3. If the desired mode is not already selected, touch the Mode Button. Then, touch the button for the desired mode used to define the user waypoint location.
  4. To change the type of user waypoint which is being created, touch the Type Selection Button to change the setting from Route to Airport.
  5. If Airport is the selected Type, the ground level elevation of that location is automatically selected. To change the elevation, touch the Airport Elevation Button.
    1. The pilot is prompted with, "Overwrite terrain database elevation of XXXX?" Touch the OK Button to overwrite the elevation.
    2. Use the keypad and Enter Button to manually enter the elevation.
  6. If Airport is the selected Type, add User Runways (see next procedure).
  7. If not already selected, define the user waypoint location:
    1. Touch a Location Parameter Button (Reference, Radial, Distance, or Coordinates) to display the keypad for that parameter. The Location Parameter Buttons depend on the Mode setting from Step 4.
    2. If a radial is being entered:
    3. Touch the Reference Button to select a reference for the Radial From Button and Distance Button to be set.
    4. Touch the Radial From Button and enter a course or radial with the number pad. Select the Course Button or the Radial Button to change the mode of entry for the keypad. Touch the Enter Button.
    5. Touch the Distance Button and enter a distance from the reference and touch the Enter Button.
    6. If a coordinate is being entered:
    7. Touch the Units Datafield Button to change the type of coordinate unit.
      • DM: Degrees and Minutes
      • DEG: Degrees only
      • DMS: Degrees, Minutes, and Seconds
    8. Select the hemisphere to enter the coordinates by touching the appropriate hemispheric letter.
    9. Use the keypad to enter the desired coordinates and touch the Enter Button.
  8. If desired, change the waypoint description:
    1. Touch the Description Button and enter a short description for the user waypoint (up to 25 characters).
    2. Touch the Enter Button.
  9. If desired touch the Temporary Button. All temporary waypoints will be erased after the next power cycle.
  10. Touch the Create Button to create the new user waypoint.
