Adding/Editing User Runways:

  1. From any map display on an MFW, touch the map at the location of the new user waypoint to access the Radial Menu (if necessary, touch and drag the map display to pan to the desired location).

    Or:

    1. Navigate to the 'Apps' window by pressing the MENU Softkey two times.

      Or:

      Touch the Applications Icon on the Applications Bar.

    2. Touch the Quick Actions Tab.
    3. Touch User WPTs.
  2. Touch the Create User Waypoint Icon.
  3. Touch the Waypoint Name Button to display the keypad.
  4. Use the keypad and the Enter Button to input the User Waypoint Name.
  5. If the desired mode is not already selected, touch the Mode Button. Then, touch the button for the desired mode used to define the user waypoint location.
  6. To change the type of user waypoint which is being created, touch Type Button to change the setting from 'Route' to 'Airport'.
  7. If the system auto populated the airport elevation, and no modifications are desired, proceed to Step 8. To change the elevation, touch the Airport Elevation Button.
    1. The pilot is prompted with, "Overwrite terrain database elevation of XXXX?" Touch the OK Button to overwrite the elevation.
    2. Use the keypad and Enter Button to manually enter the elevation.
  8. Touch the Edit Runways Button.
    1. If no runways exist for the waypoint, "No User Runways Available" prompts the pilots. Touch the Create Runway Button.
    2. If runways exist, touch the desired runway button to edit and then touch the Edit or Delete buttons.
  9. Touch the Runway Heading Datafield Button.
  10. Use the keypad and the Enter Button to enter the runway heading.
  11. If desired, define a parallel runway:
    1. Touch the Parallel Button.
    2. Touch the button for the desired parallel runway designator (L,C,or R for Left, Center, or Right).
  12. Enter the Threshold Coordinates:
    1. If the system auto populated the coordinates on the Threshold Coordinates Button, and no modifications are desired, proceed to Step 13.
    2. Touch the Runway Threshold Button.
    3. Touch the Units Datafield Button to change the type of coordinate unit.
      • DM: Degrees and Minutes
      • DEG: Degrees only
      • DMS: Degrees, Minutes, and Seconds
    4. Select the hemisphere to enter the coordinates by touching the appropriate hemispheric letter.
    5. Use the keypad to enter the desired coordinates and touch the Enter Button.
  13. Enter the Threshold Elevation:
    1. If the system auto populated the elevation on the Threshold Elevation Button, and no modifications are desired, proceed to Step 14.
    2. Touch the Threshold Elevation Button.
    3. Use the keypad and the Enter Button to enter the threshold elevation.
  14. Enter the Threshold Crossing Height:
    1. If the system auto populated the height on the TCH Datafield Button, and no modifications are desired, proceed to Step 15.
    2. Touch the TCH Datafield Button.
    3. Use the keypad and the Enter Button to enter the threshold crossing height.
  15. Touch the Create Runway Button if creating a new runway. A confirmation window will be displayed.

    Or:

    Touch the Edit Runway Button if editing an already existing runway.

  16. Touch the OK Button.
  17. Repeat Steps 8a through 17 until all User Runways are entered.
  18. Touch the BACK Softkey or Back Icon to return to the previous screen where all newly created runways can be reviewed.
  19. To finish creating the user airport, complete steps 10 through 12 of the previous procedure.
