Standby Database Catalog

The AXIS™ supports storage of multiple regions for the same database, allowing the crew to quickly change regions while on the ground. A system power cycle is required to change database regions. The system can store standby and active databases using the internally stored display (AXIS flight display) databases, USB Stick databases, and databases from a connected PED. Databases in the 'Available Cycle' can be active databases from a region that are not currently selected, or standby databases stored until reaching the activation date. When an USB Stick is inserted in the USB Data Loader of the display, it will take priority over any other databases recognized by the system, putting all other forms of databases in 'USB Lockout'.

To view the available databases touch any 'Available Cycle' datafield buttons then touch the View All Available Button. The 'Available Cycle' datafield button is visible in the right-most column on the 'Database Status' Window with the active and standby databases. Download status is indicated by a down arrow, with only the currently downloading database displaying a solid arrow to indicate which database is currently downloading. The 'Available Cycle' column will only show the selected region. If no database is selected, the Catalog entry will have a star indicating user input is needed.

Pressing on one of the catalog entries brings up the available regions for selection. This will show the source of the database which can be from a USB Stick, or the PED Garmin Pilot App. Selecting one of the regions brings up the catalog details. The Load to Standby Button will trigger the database to sync to the standby column. The region loaded will be remembered for future updates.

The top-level ‘Database Summary’ will show the sync status and progress. Completed syncs will have an arrow at the top. Selecting one of the standby databases will give the option to view the details of the DB such as part number, version, file size, and copyright info, as well as the Unit DB Summary which shows what each display unit has installed on that column. The Marked for Delete Button will mark databases for deletion on the next on-ground power cycle.
