Avoiding an Area Select > Navigation > Route Preferences > Custom Avoidances. If necessary, select Add Avoidance. Select Add Avoid Area. Select the upper-left corner of the area to avoid, and select Next. Select the lower-right corner of the area to avoid, and select Next. The selected area is shaded on the map. Select Done.
