Downloading a Software Update Manually

You can download the proper update file for your stereo from the Garmin® website and manually prepare a USB flash drive to update the stereo.

  1. Go to the page for your stereo or stereo accessories on support.garmin.com, and download the update file.
  2. Insert a properly-formatted USB flash drive of sufficient size into your computer.
  3. Extract the contents of the .zip file to the root of a USB flash drive.

    The contents of the software update are contained in a folder named Garmin.

  4. Eject or safely remove the USB flash drive from the computer.
