Chartplotter Voice Commands

The voice command system is designed to detect natural speech. This is a list of commonly used voice commands, but the device does not require these exact phrases (other than OK Garmin). You can try saying variations of these commands in a way that is natural to you.

Zoom Out	Zooms out
Raise Brightness	Raises the display brightness
Lower Brightness	Lowers the display brightness
Automatic Brightness	Enables automatic display brightness adjustment
Set brightness to 80	Set the brightness to a specified level. For example, you can cay "Set brightness to 80," and the brightness level will adjust to 80 percent.
Sleep Display	Puts the display to sleep
Wake Display	Wakes the display
Beeper Off	Disables the chartplotter beeper
Beeper On	Enables the chartplotter beeper
Lock Screen	Locks the chartplotter screen
Unlock Screen	Unlocks the chartplotter screen
Home Screen	Opens the home screen
Screenshot	Captures a screenshot

Mark Waypoint	Marks a waypoint at your present location
Show Waypoints	Shows a list of all waypoints saved to the device
Clear Active Track	Clears all active track information
What's the distance to the next waypoint?	Replies with the distance to next set waypoint

Media Functions

Show Media Player	Opens the media player
Play Music	Plays the presently selected media
Pause Music	Pauses the presently selected media
Resume	Resumes playing the presently selected media
Previous Track	Returns to the previous track
Next Track	Skips to the next track
Mute	Mutes the media volume
Unmute	Unmutes the media volume
Lower Volume	Lowers the media volume
Raise Volume	Raises the media volume

What's the water temperature?	Replies with the present water temperature
What's the air temperature?	Replies with the present air temperature
What's the wind speed?	Replies with the present wind speed
What's the wind direction?	Replies with the present wind direction
When is sunrise?	Replies with the sunrise time for the present location
When is sunset?	Replies with the sunset time for the present location
Tell me the Tide Info	Replies with the present tide information

What's the depth?	Replies with the water depth at the present location

Radar Functions

Start Radar Transmission	When a radar is in standby, this starts the radar transmission
Stop Radar Transmission	Stops the radar transmission and places the radar in standby
Enable Echo Trail	Enables the echo trail
Disable Echo Trail	Disables the echo trail
Clear Echo Trail	Clears the echo trail
Increase Radar Gain	Increases the radar gain
Decrease Radar Gain	Decreases the radar gain
Increase Radar Range	Increases the radar range

Automatic Radar Gain High	Sets the automatic radar gain to the highest setting

Radar Rain Clutter On	Turns on the rain clutter filter
Radar Rain Clutter Off	Turns off the rain clutter filter
Increase Radar Rain Clutter	Increases the level of the rain clutter setting

Garmin^® Trolling Motor Functions

Anchor Lock Enabled	Turns on and sets anchor lock
Disengage Anchor Lock	Disengages and turns off anchor lock
Cruise Control On	Turns on and engages cruise control
Disable Cruise	Disengages and turns off cruise control
Set Cruise to 3 Knots	Adjusts the cruise control speed to the spoken value
Turn to Starboard	Uses the trolling motor to turn the vessel to the starboard (right) side
Step Turn Left	Uses the trolling motor to make a small step turn to the left (port)
Set Heading Hold	Engages heading hold
Disable Heading Hold	Disengages heading hold
Jog Left	Adjusts the position of the vessel slightly left (port) when in anchor lock
Bump Port	Adjusts the position of the vessel slightly port (left) when in anchor lock
Jog Front	Adjusts the position of the vessel slightly forward when in anchor lock
Adjust Backward	Adjusts the position of the vessel slightly backward when in anchor lock
Prop On	Turns on the propeller
Motor Off	Turns off the trolling motor
Speed Up	Increases the trolling motor propeller speed one level
Speed Up by 3	Increases the trolling motor propeller speed three levels
Slow down	Decreases the trolling motor propeller speed one level
Set Speed to 10	Sets the trolling motor propeller speed to level 10
Speed to Half	Sets the trolling motor propeller to half of full speed
Speed to Full	Sets the trolling motor propeller to full speed
Turbo	Sets the trolling motor propeller speed to turbo

NOTE: Before you can use voice commands to control your Garmin trolling motor, you must connect the chartplotter to the trolling motor (Connecting to a Trolling Motor).

Garmin Boat Switch™ Digital Switching Functions
Voice Command	Function
Turn on the Anchor Lights	Turns on the digital switch assigned to the anchor lights
White Light Off	Turns off the digital switch assigned to the anchor light, which may be referred to as the white light
Start Bilge 1	Turns on the digital switch assigned to the first bilge pump
Stop Bilge 1	Turns off the digital switch assigned to the first bilge pump
Run Bilge 3 Continuously	Turns on and runs the digital switch assigned to the third bilge pump in a manner where it will not turn off automatically
Set Primary Light to 80	Adjusts the brightness of the digital switch assigned to the primary light
Switch off Light 3	Turns off the digital switch assigned to the third light
Turn On Light 1	Turns on the digital switch assigned to the first light
Raise Brightness of Light 2	Steps up the brightness for the digital switch assigned to the second light
Make Lamp 2 Not So Bright	Reduces the brightness of the digital switch assignment to the second light
Sound Horn 1	Triggers the digital switch assigned to the first horn
Stop Primary Horn	Turns off the digital switch assigned to the first horn
Sound Primary Horn for 2 Seconds	Triggers the digital switch assigned to the first horn for two seconds
Turn on Baitwell 1	Turns on the digital switch assigned to the first baitwell or live well pump
Stop Live Well 2	Turns off the digital switch assigned to the first baitwell or live well pump
Continuously Run the Sixth Bait Tank	Turns on and runs the digital switch assigned to the sixth baitwell or live well pump in a manner where it will not turn off automatically
Turn on the Navigation Lights	Turns on the digital switch assigned to the navigation lights
Switch Navigation Lights Off	Turns off the digital switch assigned to the anchor lights
Turn on Steaming Lights	Turns on the digital switch assigned to the steaming lights
Switch the Steaming Lights Off	Turns off the digital switch assigned to the steaming lights

NOTE: Before you can use voice commands to control functions of your Garmin Boat Switch digital switching system, you must configure your Garmin Boat Switch device to assign identifying information to the switches you want to control using voice control (Configuring Digital Switches for Voice Control).
