Configuring Digital Switches for Voice Control
Before you can use the voice control feature on the chartplotter to control switched devices using your Garmin Boat Switch™ device, you must assign details about the devices connected to each switch you want to control.
- From a Garmin® chartplotter connected to the same NMEA 2000® network as the Garmin Boat Switch device, select .
- Select the switched channel you want to configure for voice control, then select Select Type.
- Select the type of device connected to the switched channel, then select Set Type.
-
If needed, perform any additional configurations for the channel and device:
-
If you have more than one type of device on the boat and you need to add an identifying number (ex. light 1, light 2, etc.), select Select Identity, select a number to assign to the device, then select Set Identity.
-
If you want to see examples of how you can use voice control for the device, select Show Examples.
-
If you made mistakes and want to reset the voice control settings for the device, select Reset.
-
After you have set the type and optional identity information for devices connected to the Garmin Boat Switch device, you can use voice control to interact with them (Chartplotter Voice Commands).
