Installing the Locking Pin

The Force® Current trolling motor supports three different positions for the locking pin, intended to offset the angle of the stern relative to the water.

  1. Insert the locking pin 1 through the clevis on both sides of the motor.

  2. Install the cotter ring 2 on the end of the locking pin to secure it in place.

When you deploy the motor, the mount latch catches the locking pin, securing the motor in the deployed position.

You should examine the angle of the shaft relative to the kayak, and move the locking pin to one of the other two positions, if necessary, to set the motor shaft at a perpendicular angle to the water surface.
