Installing the Rails Using Jack Nuts

Before installing the rails on the sides of the deck, you must remove the right-angle adapter from the rails (Removing the Right-Angle Adapter).

If your kayak is not equipped with a track system or suitable mounting points for the pedal rails, you can install the needed mounting points using the included jack nuts.

  1. Using a pedal rail as a template, mark the pilot holes on one side of your kayak.
  2. Using an 11 mm (7/16 in.) drill bit, drill the mounting holes.
    NOTICE

Do not drill mounting holes through the rails. Drilling the mounting holes through the rails may damage the rails.

  3. Install a jack nut from bag E icon in each mounting hole (Installing Jack Nuts).
  4. Secure the rails to the kayak using the screws from bag E icon and the washers from bag D icon.
  5. Repeat this procedure for the other side of your kayak.
