Replacing the Steering Position Sensor

Before you can replace the steering position sensor, you must remove the steering servo motor, shaft carrier and gears (Removing the Steering Servo Motor and Shaft Carrier).

  1. Using a #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the three screws that secure the steering position sensor to the steering system housing.

  2. Lift up and remove the steering position sensor.
  3. Install the replacement steering position sensor using the screws provided with the replacement sensor.
  4. Tighten the screws to 1 N-m (8.7 lbf-in)
