Replacing the Propeller Using a 9/16 in (15 mm) socket, remove the nut that secures the propeller. Remove the propeller and set aside the lock washer, flat washer and sacrificial anode. Make sure the pin in the propeller motor shaft is in place, and replace it if necessary. Install the new propeller. Place the anode, flat washer, lock washer, and nut back on the propeller drive shaft. Using a 9/16 in (15 mm) socket, tighten the nut to 16.27 N-m (12 lbf-ft) to secure the propeller.
