Routing Settings

The available routing settings vary based on whether Direct Routing is enabled or disabled.

Select Home. Select Setup > Routing.

Direct Routing

Enables or disables direct routing. Direct routing calculates the most direct route possible to the destination.

Activity

Sets an activity while routing. The navigator calculates routes optimized for the type of activity you are doing.

Course Navigation Method

Sets the method used to calculate courses and routes. The Direct Path option is used for point-to-point navigation without recalculation. The Roads & Trails option adjusts the course to follow map data, recalculating as needed. The Prompted option enables a prompt to select the course navigation method each time you navigate a course.

Course Alerts

Enables or disables course alerts. The navigator alerts you when you go off course, and then alerts you when you navigate back on course.

Popularity Routing

Calculates routes based on the most popular runs and rides from Garmin Connect™.

Route Transitions

Sets how the navigator routes from one point on the route to the next. This setting is available only for some activities. The Distance option routes you to the next point on the route when you are within a specified distance of your current point.

Advanced Setup

Allows you to customize additional routing settings (Advanced Routing Settings).
