Loading an instrument approach into the flight plan:

  1. Initiate the Procedure Loading Function for approach (see procedures for Initiating the Procedure Loading Function).
  2. If necessary, select or modify the approach airport:
    1. Touch the Airport Selection Button.
    2. Use the keypad, or the Find Function, to enter the approach airport.
    3. Touch the Enter Button.
  3. Touch the Approach Procedure Button to display a list of approach procedures.
  4. Touch the button for the desired instrument approach procedure to select it. Then, the 'Transitions' Window is automatically displayed.
  5. Select or modify the approach transition waypoint:
    1. If the 'Transitions' Window is not already displayed, touch the Transition Procedure Button to display a list of transition waypoints.
    2. Touch the button for the desired transition waypoint or touch the VECTORS Button for vectors to final.
    3. If prompted to fly the course reversal, select the Yes Button or No Button. The system automatically loads the course reversal into the flight plan if the aircraft is outside 180° of the inbound course.
  6. If necessary, select or modify the landing runway:
    1. Touch the Landing Runway Procedure Button to display a list of runways.
    2. Touch the button for the desired landing runway.
  7. Enter or modify minimums (only selectable for the Active Flight Plan):
    1. Touch the Minimums Button.
    2. Use the keypad to enter the minimums altitude.
    3. If necessary, apply temperature compensation to approach minimums (only available for BARO Mode):

      Touch the TEMP COMP Annunciation Buttonto enable the setting. Then, touch the TEMP Datafield Button, and use the keypad and Enter Button to enter the destination temperature.

    4. Touch the Enter Button to add minimums to the Procedure Loading Function.
  8. If necessary, select a different Approach Mode (Service Level):
    1. Touch the Approach Menu Button.
    2. Touch the Service Level Button.
    3. Touch the Service Button to toggle the selection to 'Manual'.
    4. Touch each button for the desired Service Level and Vertical Guidance Source settings.
    5. Touch the Apply Button.
    6. Touch the Back Arrow to exit the procedure menu.
  9. Touch the Load and Activate Button to activate the approach.
