Graphically Edit The Active Flight Plan By Rubber Banding:

When rubber banding a leg or waypoint, the Search Radius surrounding the grab point is displayed inside a white circle, and the Map Data Box is displayed above the circle. The perpendicular distance and course angle from the original grab point to center of the Search Radius is displayed in the Map Data Box when rubber banding a leg or waypoint.

188: Graphically Editing a Flight Plan, Rubber Banding a Leg

  1. With a flight plan active, navigate to the map application page on the MFW.
  2. To activate Graphical Edit Mode, touch and hold an Active Flight Plan waypoint or touch and hold a point along a flight plan leg to select the grab point, and continue to touch and hold while dragging (rubber banding) the leg or waypoint to a new location on the map. The perpendicular distance and course angle from the original grab point to the center of the Search Radius will be displayed in the Map Data Box while rubber banding.
  3. Release the rubber band at the desired location on the map. If the initial grab point was an Active Flight Plan waypoint, a new flight plan waypoint must be selected at the release location to replace the original flight plan waypoint. If the initial grab point was a point along a flight plan leg, a new waypoint at the release location must be selected to define the end waypoint of the new leg.
  4. Select the replacement waypoint or new leg end waypoint:

If only one waypoint is located at the point that was touched on the map, that waypoint and leg to and from it shall be displayed in cyan on the map.

    Or:

If no waypoints are located at the point that was touched on the map, a temporary user waypoint is created and the leg to and from it shall be displayed in cyan on the map.

    Or:

If multiple waypoints are located near the point that was touched on the map, the 'Nearest Items' Window is displayed, listing all waypoints near the touch point. Touch the button for the desired waypoint. That waypoint and the new leg to and from it shall be displayed in cyan on the map.

  5. If necessary, touch the Undo Button to undo the most recent change made before continuing in Graphical Edit Mode.
  6. If adding multiple waypoints, repeat Steps 3 through 5 until all desired changes are complete.
  7. Touch the Activate Button to apply all changes to the active flight plan and exit Graphical Edit Mode.

    Or:

Touch the Cancel Edit Button then touch the OK Button to remove all changes and exit Graphical Edit Mode.
