System Alert Messages
Formerly known as CAS or Crew Alerting System the system alert messages displayed depend upon the current configuration, and will vary from the examples listed below. Refer to the AXIS™ installation manual for more information on configuring system alert messages (if applicable) and refer to Appendix A for more information on system alert messages.
System alert messages are grouped by criticality (warning, caution, advisory). The color of the message is based on its urgency and on required action:
-
WARNING (red): Requires immediate attention.
-
CAUTION (yellow): Requires pilot awareness and possible future corrective action.
-
ADVISORY (white): Provides general information.
Warning annunciation text is shown in red in the system alert messages window on the PFW. The system alert window is located to the right of the HSI on the PFW. If a caution or warning system alert message is populated on the PFW the system alert message and the 'Messages' icon will flash inverse color scheme until acknowledged. Depending on the type of alert the 'Messages' Button may be replaced with 'Caution', 'Warning', or 'System'.
When more system alert messages are present than can be displayed in the available window space, a down arrow will appear in the system alert window.
