Updating Databases When the System Is Powered On
The following instructions cover updating databases after system power-on for using a USB Stick or Wi-Fi Datalink. (For instructions to update databases after system power-on using Garmin Pilot and a PED, see ‘Updating Databases Using Garmin Pilot’ later in this Appendix). Databases will begin to update automatically when the system is powered-on with a USB stick inserted into the display with current database updates. If the Wi-Fi Datalink is established and any databases are available to update, the process will begin as soon as power is applied to the system.
If a USB Stick is inserted in the USB Data Loader of the display after power-on, the databases on the stick will take priority over any matching databases on the Wi-Fi Datalink. Any Wi-Fi Datalink databases matching those on the USB Stick will be in ‘USB Lockout’ and not available until the USB Stick is removed.
