The pilot can quickly view nearest waypoints and select one to view information about its location, initiate a Direct-To to that waypoint, or insert the waypoint into the Active Flight Plan. The 'Nearest' Screen gives the flight crew the ability to filter nearest waypoints based on waypoint type by touching the Type Button and selecting the desired filtering criteria.

While the 'Nearest' App defaults to finding and listing waypoints of the desired type according to proximity to the aircraft present position, if 'Airport' is the selected waypoint type, the flight crew can also filter the list of nearest airports according to the estimated glide range of the current aircraft's position. Regardless of whether the Glide Range Indicator Button is enabled or disabled, the list of airports provided by the 'Nearest' App will display a green "Glide" in the airport button indicating that the airport is within glide range.

Other waypoint types the Nearest Function can find and filter include: Intersection, VOR, NDB, User Waypoint, Visual Reporting Point(VRP), Airspace, Air Traffic Control Centers (ARTCC), Flight Service Stations (FSS), and Weather Broadcasts. Waypoint types that have associated frequencies for navigation and communication (VOR, NDB, Airport, ARTCC, FSS, and Weather Broadcast) have Frequency Buttons for that purpose.
