System Messages

Messages are presented to the pilot through the System Button at the bottom of the display. When pressed the "Messages" Window is opened. When a message is present, the button will flash white (for advisory), flash "Caution" in yellow (for cautions) and flash "Warning" in red (for warnings). System messages include system alerts, maintenance messages, and other system messages that pertain to the airframe and its systems including long-term banner messages.

System Message Alert Text Description
Inside [Identifier, Class] Airspace: N/A The aircraft is inside the airspace.
[Identifier, Class] Airspace Ahead: Entry within 10 minutes Special use airspace is ahead of aircraft. The aircraft current ground track penetrates the airspace within 10 minutes.
[Airspace Class} Airspace Ahead: [Identifier] within 2 NM on Current Course Special use airspace is near and ahead of the aircraft position.
Within 2NM of [Identifier, Class] airspace: N/A Special use airspace is within 2 NM of the aircraft position.
SVT Outside Available Terrain Region: Outside of area supported by the terrain database SVT™ will not be displayed on the PFW until the aircraft enters an area supported by the terrain database.
Magnetic Database Out of Date : Update Navigation Database to resolve this issue Magnetic variation databases are updated once every 10 years. When this message is displayed, update the Magnetic Variation Database.
Database Fault : See Database Status Page View details of the database fault: Applications Icon > Settings & Tools Tab > Databases.
Database Change : Verify User Modified Procedures Displayed when one or more stored flight plans have procedures built into them and a database update has occurred.
Audio Device Conflict: Intercom enabled on more than one unit Displayed until the conflict is resolved by disabling the appropriate audio intercom.
Database Change : Verify Stored Airways Displayed when one or more stored flight plans have airways built into them and a database update has occurred.
Database Sync in Progress : See Database Status Page for more information View details of the database sync: Applications Icon > Settings & Tools Tab > Databases.
EXTERNAL GPS SIMULATOR : External GPS simulated. Do not use for navigation GPS position is being simulated and MUST not be used for navigation purposes.
Simulator: Sim mode is active. Do not use for navigation. AXIS is in demo mode, do not use for normal operating procedures.
SurfaceWatch Fail : One or more inputs invalid SurfaceWatch™ features may be unavailable until the failure is resolved.
Transponder not receiving pressure altitude : Altitude Reporting may be impacted An integrated transponder is not receiving pressure altitude. Mode C transmissions will not include altitude information.
Transponder has lost communication with GPS source: Position Data not available for ADS-B ADS-B out transmissions of GPS data will not be transmitted until GPS position is restored.
Traffic Fault: Traffic Picture May not be Complete 1090 or 978 receiver has failed, but not both. Some traffic targets may be unavailable.
ADS-B In Failed: Weather and Traffic Unavailable No weather or traffic information will be displayed or announced until the ADS-B failure has been resolved.
AHRS 1/2/3 Redundancy Reduced: Heading Data Unavailable AHRS units use multiple sources of data to assist in determining attitude and heading. AHRS units are designed to continue operation in the absence of an aiding input. The failure of one or more inputs lowers the threshold to a complete loss of data from the unit.
AHRS 1/2/3 Redundancy Reduced: Air Data Unavailable AHRS units use multiple sources of data to assist in determining attitude and heading. AHRS units are designed to continue operation in the absence of an aiding input. The failure of one or more inputs lowers the threshold to a complete loss of data from the unit.
AHRS 1/2/3 Redundancy Reduced: GPS Data Unavailable AHRS units use multiple sources of data to assist in determining attitude and heading. AHRS units are designed to continue operation in the absence of an aiding input. The failure of one or more inputs lowers the threshold to a complete loss of data from the unit.
Non WGS84 Waypoint: No GPS Navigation to [waypoint] The active waypoint does not reference the WGS84 datum. No action necessary. For more information, read “Points About Non-WGS84 Waypoints” in this section.
Large Magnetic Variance: Crosscheck mag angles and use with caution The system position is in a region with large magnetic variance, and the magnetic angles should be cross-checked and used with caution.
VNAV Unavailable: Reset altitude preselect to arm descent Reset altitude preselect to arm VNAV descent.
VNAV Unavailable: Unsupported Leg Type in Active Flight Plan The lateral flight plan contains an unsupported leg type prior to the active vertical waypoint. This prevents PATH guidance to the active vertical waypoint.
VNAV Unavailable: Excessive Track Angle Error Track angle error exceeds limit, causing vertical path guidance to become invalid. Navigate within 70º of active flight plan course.
VNAV Unavailable: Excessive XTK Deviation Error Crosstrack exceeds limit, causing vertical path guidance to become invalid. Navigate within 10 NM of flight plan centerline, or edit flight plan to allow for vertical navigation.
VNAV Unavailable: Reverted to Pitch The system was previously in PATH flight director mode but has reverted to PIT (pitch hold). This would happen as a result of an over-speed condition, a vertical discontinuity, or invalid vertical deviation.
VNAV Unavailable: Cannot meet VNAV altitude constraint Based on the current rate of climb or descent, the next flight plan altitude constraint will not be met.
Vertical Discontinuity Ahead: Discontinuity after @0@ A vertical gap in the computed descent path exists between two waypoints ahead of the aircraft in the flight plan.
Audio Controls Fault: Remote Control Unavailable This alert is displayed any time the CNI bar audio panel controls are inoperative.
