Graphically Add An Along Track Waypoint The Active Flight Plan:

The Search Radius and Map Data Box shall also be displayed after a two finger touch and hold gesture is made. The Map Data Box shall display the along track distance between the flight plan waypoint and the center of the Search Radius when creating an along track waypoint. The Map Data Box shall display the perpendicular distance and course angle from the flight plan leg to the offset leg when creating a parallel offset.

  1. With a flight plan active, navigate to the map application page on the MFW.
  2. Activate Graphical Edit Mode:

    Momentarily, touch and hold one finger on the desired Active Flight Plan waypoint which will be used to define the along track waypoint. Then, release the waypoint to activate Graphical Edit Mode.

    Or:

    Touch the map at the desired Active Flight Plan waypoint which will be used to define the along track waypoint. Then, touch the Graphical Reroute Button on the Radial Menu to activate Graphical Edit Mode.

  3. Touch and hold two fingers this time, and continue holding, while dragging fingers (before or after the selected waypoint) parallel to the leg until the necessary distance is displayed in the Map Data Box.

    (Graphical Edit Mode limits the along-track distance to less than the length of the leg before or after the selected waypoint. If the selected waypoint is the active waypoint, the distance is limited to less than the distance to go to the active waypoint.)

  4. Remove fingers from the map. The 'Along Track Waypoint Offset' Window is displayed, pre-filled with the graphical along track offset settings.
  5. To edit any of the pre-filled settings, use the keypad to change the distance, or touch the button for the desired direction.
  6. Touch the Enter Button. The along track waypoint is displayed in cyan on the map and added to the flight plan.
  7. Touch the Activate Button to apply all changes to the active flight plan and exit Graphical Edit Mode.

    Or:

    Touch the Cancel Edit Button then touch the OK Button to remove all changes and exit Graphical Edit Mode.
