Loss of GPS from External Navigator

NOTICE

Do not use the approach information provided by the internal navigation of the GDU™ 116B (VFR only) as a means of navigating any instrument approach. The consumer GPS provided in the GDU 116B AXIS™ flight display is limited to a VFR navigation database the presents only the waypoints for the final approach leg of a published procedure. These waypoints and associated course lines are made available for monitoring purposed only.

When an external navigator is being used and the GPS sensor fails the system will automatically revert to the internal GPS sensor. An indication will appear below the HSI notifying the pilot of this change. If the display is a GDU 116B the GPS will not be capable of providing approach information at and beyond the FAF of an instrument approach.
