If desired, the system can calculate temperature compensation for waypoint crossing altitudes loaded as part of an approach procedure. The pilot must manually enable temperature compensation and then enter the destination airport temperature.

The system adjusts the altitudes accordingly, and the snowflake icon is displayed next to those altitudes. By default, these altitudes are displayed in MSL values. When a temperature compensated approach altitude (shown in MSL) is higher than the Transition Level but is not shown in FL, a system message is generated.

Temperature compensation shall also be applied to approach waypoint altitudes. Temperature compensated minimums are displayed on the PFW. The destination temperature setting will be the same for both temperature compensated minimums and approach waypoint altitudes.

Temperature compensation of approach waypoint altitudes and approach minimums is coupled. If approach minimums have already been entered, and 'BARO' is the selected mode, enabling temperature compensation for approach waypoint altitudes will automatically apply temperature compensation to the approach minimums. Enabling temperature compensation for approach minimums will automatically apply temperature compensation to the approach waypoint altitudes.
