Configuring NMEA 2000 Digital Switches with a Chartplotter

After connecting a NMEA 2000® digital switching device (Adding NMEA 2000 Digital Switches), you can use a compatible chartplotter to configure the NMEA 2000 digital switches. You can also configure them with the ActiveCaptain® app (Configuring the Switches with a Mobile Device).

These steps apply only to switches connected to a NMEA 2000 digital switching device. To configure the switches connected to the OnDeck™ hub, see Configuring OnDeck Switches with a Chartplotter.

  1. From the chartplotter, select Options > Settings > My Vessel > Switching > NMEA Standard.
  2. Select a NMEA 2000 switch.
  3. If necessary, for the visibility setting, select Hidden.
  4. If necessary, for the time setting, select Momentary or Latching.

    A Momentary switch is on only for the duration you select. A Latching switch is on until you turn it off again. You can configure the duration for a Momentary switch with the ActiveCaptain app.

  5. If necessary, select Label, and enter a label for the switch.
