Garmin® Inland
G-chart Cartography is an aid to navigation and has been designed
to facilitate the use of authorized government and local charts,
not to replace them. Only official government charts contain all
the information you need for safe navigation. These electronic
charts help users orient themselves to their surroundings by illustrating
shoreline information. This information may vary due to spillway
releases and natural occurrences like rainfall levels. Depth information
is not included for these reasons. Please remember that the user
is ultimately responsible for the safe operation and navigation
of his or her vessel.
Garmin developed
inland cartography to give people a tool to orient themselves
to their surroundings. These charts illustrate shoreline information,
boat docks, marinas, campgrounds, parking accommodations, and
other recreational facilities. However, they do not show depth
information. Customers are encouraged to enhance the detailed
coverage around lakes by placing their own desired waypoints.
As a secondary reference feature, interstates, and national and
state highways are covered statewide, and county roads are covered
around lakes.
Inland G-chart
Cartography gives you the confidence to explore new lakes and
reservoirs, as well as get the most out of the waters you already
know. From planning a weekend excursion to finding a secluded
cove, these electronic charts offer a powerful tool so you can
enjoy inland boating at a whole new level.
Inland G-charts
are available for the contiguous 48 United States and provides
detailed coverage of most inland lakes and reservoirs to a 1 nm
scale. Interstates, national and state highways, and county roads
adjacent to covered lakes and reservoirs are also displayed. A
variety of other items such as boat ramps, dams, mile markers,
marinas, campgrounds, and other areas of interest are also displayed.
(Coverage must have been available at the time of production.)
Note: Garmin
Inland G-charts work with all Garmin GPSMAP® Marine units. GPSMAP
205, 210, and 220 owners must have software release 4.0 or higher
to make full use of Inland cartography. A special software upgrade
is available at attractive pricing when you purchase your first
Inland G-chart cartridge.
