Software Updates

For best results, you should update the software in all JL Audio^® devices at the time of installation to ensure compatibility.

Depending on your stereo and connections, you may be able to use any or all of these update methods:

You can update the software using the Garmin^® Audio remote control app on your compatible Apple^® or Android™ device. To download the app and update the device software, go to the Apple App Store℠ or the Google Play™ store.
If you have a compatible Apple device, you can use an appropriate USB sync cable connected to the USB-C^® port on the stereo and to your Apple device to update the stereo software through the Garmin Audio app. To download the app and update the device software, go to the Apple App Store or the Google Play store.
If you prefer to not use the remote control app, you can update the software using a single-stereo update file loaded onto a USB flash drive (Updating the Software Using a USB Flash Drive).
If you have a compatible Garmin chartplotter connected to the same NMEA 2000 network as the stereo, you can update the stereo using a network full marine package update downloaded from the Garmin website or from Garmin Express™ and loaded onto a memory card (Updating the Software Using a NMEA 2000 Connected Garmin Chartplotter) .
