Command bars displayed as a dual cue move independently to indicate pitch (horizontal bar) and roll (vertical bar) commands. When the pilot (or autopilot) maneuvers the aircraft so the aircraft symbol wings align with the horizontal pitch bar and the aircraft symbol center dot is aligned with the vertical roll bar then the aircraft has achieved the appropriate attitude to follow the programmed guidance.
