System Description
The AXIS™ flight displays offer next-generation avionics capabilities. The system presents flight instrumentation, position, navigation, communication, and identification information to the pilot using full HD (1920x1080) flat-panel color display(s).
The AXIS Flight Display System is a highly configurable Garmin® System that allows the interface of several Garmin avionics units. The AXIS Flight Display System is centered around a panel-mounted touchscreen Garmin Display Unit (GDU) which may be configured as a Primary Flight Display (PFD) in single display installs, or a PFD and Multi-Function Display (MFD) when more than one display is installed.
This Pilot's Guide provides guidance for common configurations of the AXIS flight displays. Because the system is highly configurable, certain features or functions may differ based on custom settings and Line Replaceable Unit installations. The information presented in this Pilot's Guide is intended to assist the user in understanding core concepts of AXIS flight displays. For more information on specific configurations, settings, and installations not covered in this Pilot's Guide refer to other appropriate resources (e.g. Pilots Operating Handbook, Airplane Flight Manual Supplement, AXIS Maintenance Manual, AXIS Installation Manual, other relevant technical documentation or Garmin Product Support).
