If the Spy™ pole is connected to a compatible chartplotter, it is updated automatically
whenever you update the software on the chartplotter. You can also manually update the Spy™ Pole using the ActiveCaptain® app.

Turn off the Spy™ pole.

Hold
until the status LED turns yellow.

Connect your mobile device to the
dedicated Wi‑Fi® network on the Spy™ pole.
The dedicated network name starts with "SPY" and contains a series of numbers unique
to the device.

Open the ActiveCaptain app on your mobile device.

Disconnect the mobile device from the
Spy™ pole network and connect it to the internet.

From the ActiveCaptain app, select .
NOTE:
The option to download an update is shown only if a software update is available for
your device.
The ActiveCaptain app downloads the update to your mobile
device.

Turn on all Spy™ pole peripherals to ensure they are also updated.

Reconnect your mobile device to the Spy™ pole network.
The update is transferred to the
Spy™ pole. This could take up to 30 minutes to complete.
NOTE:
The status LED on the Spy™ pole flashes purple to indicate that the software is updating.
NOTE:
If the transfer finishes but the status LED on the Spy™ pole does not start flashing, you should turn off the Spy™ pole and turn it back on to complete the update.
