You can specify the nature of your emergency before placing a distress call, to convey relevant details to vessels responding to your call.

Select > DSC Calling > Distress.
Select Nature:.
Select an option from the list that accurately describes the reason for the distress call.
Send the distress call (Placing a Distress Call).
