Lockout Mode
Lockout Mode will not effect the GTR 205 if one is installed and configured in the AXIS™ flight display software.
Communication radio Lockout Mode is a feature designed to quickly transfer the communication radio to 121.5 in the event of any LRU failure. This feature also protects the system if a stuck transfer key is detected on the internal or external radio.
Lockout Mode can manually be activated by holding the transfer key for approximately two seconds. After Lockout Mode has been activated (for longer than two seconds), it can be exited by holding the transfer key for two seconds again. Once Lockout Mode is exited, most controls are restored to their initial values. The banner message below the HSI will read, "Audio Controls Locked: Hold Freq Swap to Unlock" while Lockout Mode is active. Indications on the COM radio buttons while in Lockout Mode can be reviewed in the figure below.
In single communication radio installations Lockout Mode impacts the following radio features:
- The active radio frequency is tuned to the emergency frequency.
- The COM volume will automatically be set to a level that is specified in the configuration of the AXIS flight display.
- COM Squelch is disabled.
- Monitoring of the standby frequency is disabled.
- All COM radio remote transfer and standby monitor inputs are ignored (or locked out).
In installations that have one internal COM and one external COM, Lockout Mode impacts the following radio features:
- The COM MIC selection is set to the external radio that is specified in the configuration of the AXIS flight display.
- Monitoring of the internal COM radio is disabled.
- All intercom positions are enabled.
- All other radios and music are disabled (NAV and switchable AUX radios and both wired and Bluetooth music).
- COM MIC swap inputs are disabled.
