Runway Locator
When an approach for a specific runway is active in the FMS flight plan and ‘Runway Locator’ is enabled the system will provide a series of cyan chevrons leading to the selected runway at the destination airport. The Runway Locator chevrons will fade into view when the aircraft is within a 25 NM radius from the destination airport. Chevrons will initially show 4 NM intervals. As the Aircraft gets closer to the airport chevrons will appear at 2 NM intervals and then 1 NM intervals. The chevrons will extend from the selected runway centerline to a distance of no greater than 10 NM.
The number indicating the distance from the runway threshold will always appear to the side of the chevron opposite of the runway centerline approach. For example, if approaching from the left side if centerline, the numbers will appear in the right side of the chevron.
When over rough terrain, the chevrons will contour with that terrain to increase visibility.
