GPS spoofing can have a variety of impacts depending on the type and sophistication of the spoofer. In cases where a spoofer only partially captures the GPS receiver, the effects will appear much like GPS jamming. Full capture of the GPS receiver without detection can result in misleading navigation guidance for as long as the false signals are present.
