Different banner messages may appear depending on the operational pedigree of the reverted CDI. The AXIS™ Flight display will maintain the upcoming waypoints in the flight plan at the time of failure. This helps preserve situational awareness in a failure.

If the external GPS source is Serial, the failure will revert to the internal GPS source. If the internal GPS source is not shared (there are only Serial navigators), the system will revert to the VFR CDI source and a "Flight Plan Reversion: Current CDI selection Limited to VFR" banner message will post below the HSI.

In some systems, it is possible the flight plan will revert to an IFR capable navigator. If the system fails from one external IFR GPS navigation source to another IFR source (Internal IFR or Shared external HSDB source), a "Flight Plan Reversion: Check Flight Plan" banner message will post below the HSI.
