Overview
The display of the AXIS™ Engine Indication System depends upon the current configuration and may vary from the examples discussed in this section.
A GEA 110 requires at least one GDU 116C/NC to be installed for proper display of engine systems.
The AXIS EIS displays engine, electrical, and other system parameters. Additional Engine information can be viewed by touching the Engine Icon on the MFW App Bar, selecting Engine icon from the Primary Tab in the 'Apps' Window, or tapping anywhere in the EIS Strip. The EIS strip can be configured to be displayed on the PFD or the MFD.
The AXIS EIS displays support a wide variety of engines and are able to provide indications for single and multi-engine aircraft. The following indications, if configured, may be shown:
- Tachometer
- Manifold Pressure (if required)
- Oil Pressure
- Oil Temperature
- Cylinder Head Temperature (CHT)
- Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT)
- Fuel Flow
- Fuel Pressure
- Electrical Gauges (AMPS and/or VOLTS)
- Main and Auxiliary Fuel Quantity (up to four tanks)
- Carburetor Air Temperature (CAT)
- Turbine Inlet Temperature (TIT)
- Engine Percent Power (only use as a supplementary gauge, do not use as primary gauge)
- Primary EGT
- Inlet Air Temperature (IAT)
- Compressor Discharge Temperature (CDT)
- Other custom configured indications
Additional functions provided by the EIS system include a fuel computer and hour meters.
If configured to display normal, caution, and warning indication ranges (ie., bands or arcs), green ranges on the instruments indicate normal ranges of operation; yellow and red ranges indicate caution and warning, respectively. All gauges will highlight the digital readout in yellow or red when entering a non-safe range and cause the colorized CAUTION or WARNING annunciation to flash on the System Alert Window (SAW). If sensor data to an instrument becomes invalid or unavailable, a red or yellow “X” is displayed across the instrument.
The highlighted digital readout for warning ranges on the EIS will flash until acknowledged, and the cautions will appear as a steady non-flashing indication (unless configured to flash in configuration mode).
