Touching the Active Transponder IDENT Button sends a distinct identity indication to Air Traffic Control (ATC). The indication distinguishes the identifying transponder from all the others on the air traffic controller’s screen. When active, the word IDENT appears in white on the Active Transponder Frequency Button and pulsates.
