Overview

NOTICE

With the availability of SafeTaxi®, FliteCharts®, and ChartView™ in electronic form, it is still advisable to carry another source of charts on board the aircraft.

Additional features of the system include the following:

  • SafeTaxi diagrams

  • SurfaceWatch™ feature (optional)

  • Electronic Charts

    • ChartView charts (optional)

    • FliteCharts electronic procedure charts

    • IFR/VFR Charts

  • Connext® connected cockpit (optional)

  • Data Logging

  • Emergency Autoglide

  • Database Management

SafeTaxi diagrams provide detailed taxiway, runway, and ramp information at more than 2,500 airports in North America, South America, and Europe. By decreasing range on an airport that has a SafeTaxi diagram available, a close up view of the airport layout can be seen.

The SurfaceWatch feature provides voice and visual annunciations to aid in maintaining situational awareness and avoid potential runway incursions during ground and air operations in the airport environment.

ChartView (optional) provides on-board electronic terminal procedures charts. FliteCharts provide onboard electronic terminal procedures charts. Electronic charts offer the convenience of rapid access to essential information. IFR/VFR Charts provide electronic low altitude IFR charts, high altitude IFR charts, and VFR charts for navigation.

The optional Connext feature allows for a Bluetooth connection between the system and a mobile device running the Garmin Pilot™ application. It also allows for integration of internal Wi-Fi for large data transfers.

The Central Maintenance Computer (CMC) Data Logging (optional) automatically stores avionics data, events/faults, exceedances, and aircraft logs internally on the AXIS™ flight display. Exporting the Flight Data Log (FDL) can be done using an external USB-C device or internal Wi-Fi.

The database management feature provides a comprehensive means to view and manage all databases installed on the system.
