When the aircraft enters an unusual pitch attitude, red extreme pitch warning chevrons pointing toward the horizon are displayed on the Attitude Indicator, starting at 50° above and 30° below the horizon line.

If pitch exceeds +30°/-20° or bank exceeds 65°, some information displayed on the PFW is removed. While in an unusual attitude, the display will continue to provide a persistent indication of the ground (brown band or synthetic vision) in a nose down attitude, or sky (blue band) in a nose up attitude. The Altimeter, Airspeed, Attitude, Vertical Speed, and System Alert Window remain on the display and the Horizontal Situation indicator will be replaced by the G-meter (if G-meter is set to auto).
